It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Barrister Rizuan Rahman, our former Scarborough Southwest NDP President and husband of our MPP Doly Begum, last Saturday, September 14, 2024.
Rizuan was a loving husband, dear friend, and respected leader. He was committed to making our community and our world a better place. He showed an unwavering commitment to the NDP through his contributions to our riding association, his work in our community, and through his support of his wife, MPP Doly Begum. We know many in our community will miss Rizuan deeply, though his inspirational legacy will remain.
Doly has asked, in lieu of flowers or gifts, to consider making a contribution to a madrasah/orphanage in Brahmanbaria, Bangladesh, where 157 children are nurtured and educated as this cause was dear to Rizuan.
